Danxia Landform refers to red sandstone which in long-term has gone through weathered peeling and water erosion, forming isolated peaks and steep strange rocks, it is the general name of kinds of Danxia marvelous peaks which develops along the vertical joints of red thick sandstone and conglomerate. Mainly grows in the level or slowing tilt red strata in Jurassic to Tertiary, the development of Danxia Landform started from the Himalayan Orogeny in late Tertiary. The movement makes parts of the red strata tilting and folding, and made the red basin uplifting, thus forms outflow region. Water centralized in the low part of the middle of the basin, eroded along the virtical joints of strata, forming the deep groove whose both wall are vertical. The colluvial deposits of the lane, valley and cliff, when they could not be fully removed by water, it would form colluvial cone which slope is gentle. With the collapse of trench walls retreating, the colluvial cone increased constantly, covering the scope of bedrock has been expanded, the bottom of the bedrock of colluvial cone formed a gentle slope which in the same tilt direction of the colluvial cone. The collapse of the cliff retreating made the scope of summit surface reduced gruadually, and formed the landforms such as fort-like residual peaks, stone walls or stone columns and so on. With further erosion, the residual peaks, stone walls and stone columns would disappear and formed gentle slope hills.
