| With a planning area of 938.39km2, Alxa Desert Global Geopark is the only one desert geopark in China. It is comprised of three Sub-parks, i.e. Tengger Sub-park, Badain Jaran Sub-park and Juyan Lake Sub-park. Tengger Desert holds the greatest number of lakes among its Chinese counterparts; Badain Jaran Desert possesses the world’s vastest expanse of sounding sand area and highest sand hill; Populus euphratica forests provide this desolateness with a certain source of vitality. |
